In celebration this week:
- Welcoming music will be “Mungi ni mwema” (Know that God is good)
- Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Next, Helen Hutchison will lead us in a Call to Celebration (based on Psalm 103)
- the opening hymn will be “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling”,
- next Helen will lead the Prayer For Peace (UCC Worship Ways, adapted)
- Time with Children is next
- Invitations will be presented
- Presentation of New Members is next
- The Choir Anthem will be “I Sing Because I’m Happy”
- Helen will read from scripture: Psalm 103:1-18
- Katie Kilby will deliver a sermon,
- then we will sing the Hymn of Response, “Here I Am, Lord”
- next, Katie will be presented with vestments and we will offer a sending prayer for her
- followed by passing the offering plates
- the closing hymn will be “Now Thank We All Our God”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- a benediction will be offered
- followed by a postlude by Marcus Schneider, Postlude on ‘Nun danket alle Gott’
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
