Celebration Worship Service, May 10th, 2026

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • Marcus Schneider will play an arrangement of his own for a prelude, “Now Thank We All Our God” arr. by Marcus Schneider
  • Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Lin Gentry will lead the Call to Celebration, (from World Council of Churches)
  • the opening hymn will be “Now thank We All Our God”,
  • next Lin will lead us in the Prayer for Renewal, (World Council of Churches)
  • Time with Children follows,
  • then invitations
  • then the MPC Choir will perform “It Is Well With My Soul”, Poem by Horatio Spafford; music by Philip Bliss; arr. John Ness Beck
  • Lin will read from 1 Peter 3:13-22
  • then Ben will offer a sermon,
  • the Hymn of Response will be “Rejected and Despised”,
  • Prayers of the People are next,
  • followed by passing the offering plates; Marcus will play an offertory: “Rêverie”
  • by Claude Debussy
  • the closing hymn will be “Trust in God”,
  • we will recite the Charge together
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude, “3 Variations on Song 13”, arr. by Marcus Schneider


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
