In celebration this week:
- Marcus Schneider will play a prelude, “Christ Lag in Todesbanden” BWV 625 by J. S. Bach
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Jerry White will lead the Call to Celebration, (from Iona)
- the opening hymn will be “Jesus Calls Us”,
- next Jerry will lead us in the Prayer for Peace, (using “Give us this Day” by Martin Wroe)
- Time with Children follows,
- then invitations
- then the MPC Choir will perform “Shepherd Me, O God”, directed by Kim Rankin
- Jerry will read fromJohn 10:1-10
- then Rev. Ben Daniel will offer a sermon,
- the Hymn of Response will be “God is Calling Through the Whisper”,
- Prayers of the People are next,
- followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be “Children’s Song No. 1” by Chick Corea
- the closing hymn will be “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude, “Prelude and Fugue in C Major”, by Johann Ludwig Krebs (attr.)
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
