Our sacred Earth is in turmoil. Climate science tells us that we must dramatically cut carbon emissions on a global scale in a few short years to prevent catastrophic runaway climate change–and that there is hope if we act quickly and boldly now!
Last April, the MPC congregation adopted a “Climate Call to Action” which asks us to reduce our own and MPC’s carbon footprints and help facilitate rapid policy changes at the government and corporate levels.
MPC is now implementing the Climate Call’s recommendations. Some implementation steps have begun, with many more to come. Please watch this latest (fun!) video from the Earth Care Committee for an entertaining (we hope!) introduction to MPC Climate Call implementation!
As Christians who strive to honor all people and living creatures, and to care for this miraculous gift of a planet God gave us, climate action is an urgent imperative. Thank you for joining your MPC family to help achieve the critical goal of cutting carbon emissions in half by 2030, so we may secure a livable world for today’s young people and beyond.
