In Celebration this week:
- Marcia will provide chimes and a prelude on the organ,
- Rev Ben will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Susan Spore will lead us in a Call to Celebration, adapted from the Church of Scotland’s Book of Common Order,
- The opening hymn is, “Morning Has Broken”,
- Clementina will lead us in a prayer for peace, also adapted from the Church of Scotland’s Book of Common Order,
- then Susan will read Ephesians 6:10-20.
- Rev Ben will preach a sermon, “The Armor of God and Other Difficult Metaphors”,
- The hymn of response is, “Lead On, O King Eternal”,
- Jim will lead us in prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is “Shalom Chaverim”, and
- Susan will lead us in the Charge and Rev Ben will offer a benediction.
- Kim will provide a postlude on the piano
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
