Celebration Worship Service, May 31st, 2026

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • The prelude with be “Funeral Anthem for Queen Caroline: Sinfonia”, presented by the Chamber Players; by George Frideric Handel
  • Katie will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Next, Eloise Gilland will lead us in the Call to Celebration (using Psalm 150)
  • the opening hymn will be “Open Now Thy Gates of Beauty”, 
  • next Eloise will lead the Affirmation of Reconciliation (from Iona)
  • Time with Children is next
  • Invitations will be presented
  • Kim Rankin will deliver a reflection
  • Then, the MPC Choir will present: (drum roll please) “Funeral Anthem for Queen Caroline” (1737) by George Frideric Handel, accompanied by the Chamber Players, Kim Rankin directing
  • Prayers of the People are next,
  • followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be: “Rhosymedre” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, performed by Marcus Schneider 
  • the closing hymn will be “God Be With You Till We Meet Again”, 
  • we will recite the Charge together
  • a benediction will be offered
  • followed by a postlude from Marcus: “Prelude in D Major” from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1, BWV 850 by J. S. Bach


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
