Join us for Celebration worship services, in-person and online, every Sunday at 10 a.m.

Celebration Worship Service, April 17th

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Everyone will need to wear masks and provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test within 3 days of each Sunday. You also may watch the service on a live stream in the courtyard or at home. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • require mask-wearing when indoors
  • require either proof of Covid vaccination OR a negative Covid test from within the last three days. Please see the ushers for details
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

If you can get tested using an at-home test or a clinical test before coming to Church, that’s one way you can help keep the congregation safe.

You can submit comments and prayer requests via our Comments Form at mpcfamily.org/comments . We’d love to hear from you!

If you are visiting today, we hope you’ll fill out our online Visitor Card at mpcfamily.org/hello .

If you’d like to support our work in the world (which is much appreciated!) please visit mpcfamily.org/donate .

Christ is risen indeed!

In our Easter Celebration, we reaffirm the good news of Jesus’ resurrection. Many of you will be with us in person, and some of you will join us online. Either way, I am looking forward to our first live Easter service of the Twenties. As with Easter services of yore, the Barrel house Jazz Band will join us in Celebration.
Afterwards in the courtyard , the band will continue to play while we will celebrate with strawberries, cider, and coffee. The children can take part in an Easter egg hunt (see more information in the bulletin). It will be a joyful Celebration! As always, we will be keeping COVID safe.

In celebration this week:

  • First, Barrelhouse Jazz Band will offer a prelude
  • Talitha will welcome us to Celebration.
  • Deborah Brooks will lead us in the Call to Celebration
  • The opening song is, “Jesus Christ is Risen Today”.
  • Next, Deborah will lead us in a Prayer for Peace
  • followed by Time with Children
  • The MPC Choir will offer “Can He, Would He, Did He”,
  • Deborah will lead us in a scripture lesson from Luke 24:1-12.
  • Ben will preach a sermon titled, “Life Among the Living”.
  • Next is the hymn of response, “O Happy Day”.
  • We will welcome new members John Eastman, David Hendricks and Bet Muth
  • Offering plates will be passed, and Barrelhouse Jazz Band will play an offertory (the offering today benefits One Great Hour of Sharing)
  • Next. we will celebrate communion, and Barrelhouse will play “Just a Closer Walk with Thee”
  • The closing hymn will be, “Because You Live, O Christ”, then
  • Linda will lead us in the Charge,
  • Ben will offer a benediction,
  • and finally, we will enjoy the postlude from Barrelhouse, “When the Saints Go Marching In”.

The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
