In Celebration this week:
- Marcia will provide a prelude, “Hymn to Joy”, by Ludwig van Beethoven, arr. Richard Wagner
- Talitha will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Susanne Lea will lead us in a Call to Celebration (from Psalm 122)
- The opening hymn is, “What Is This Place”,
- Susanne will lead us in a peaceful affirmation (from Iona),
- then the children will be dismissed to Godly Play.
- Susanne will read Hebrews 7:11-28,
- Ben will preach a sermon, “The World is a Sanctuary”.
- Kim will provide a musical response,
- Talitha will lead us in a pastoral prayer,
- Offering,
- then Invitations will be offered.
- The closing hymn is, “Go to the World”, and then
- Susanne will lead us in the Charge and Talitha will offer a benediction.
- Kim will provide a postlude, “Toccata in F Major”, by Dietrich Buxtehude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
