In Celebration this week:
- Marcia will provide a prelude, “Festival Prelude on “Beach Spring”, arranged by Craig Phillips
- Ben will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Clementina will lead us in a Call to Celebration (from “Weak and Poor God” by John van de Laar).
- The opening hymn is, “God Whose Giving Knows No End”,
- Clementina will lead us in a prayer for peace (from Iona, a prayer by John McCulloch),
- the MPC Choir will provide special music, “Many and Great, O God, Are Thy Works”, the Dakota Hymn, words and music by Joseph R. Renville (1842),
- then Clementina will read Mark 10:17-31.
- Talitha will preach a sermon, “Heaven, Here and Now”.
- The hymn of response is, “Take My Life and Let It Be”,
- Talitha will lead us in a pastoral prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is, “God Be the Love to Search and Keep me”, and then
- Clementina will lead us in the Charge and Talitha will offer a benediction.
- Kim will provide a postlude, “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”.
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
