Celebration Worship Service, October 3rd

In Celebration this week:

  • Marcia will provide a prelude, “One Holy Church”, arranged by Healey Willam
  • Talitha will welcome folks to Celebration, and
  • Pat Schwinn will lead us in a Call to Celebration (from Psalm 113:2-3).
  • The opening hymn is, “Come, Worship God”,
  • Pat will lead us in a prayer for peace (from Iona, a prayer by John McCulloch),
  • Debbie Fallehy will lead us in the celebration of October birthdays,
  • then Pat will read Micah 6:6-8.
  • Ben will preach a sermon, “I Have Seen the World and It is Us”.
  • The hymn of response is, “For Everyone Born”,
  • Offering,
  • Pat will bring us a Minute for Mission: PCUSA Peace & Global Witness Offering.
  • We will celebrate communion,
  • Kim will lead us in the closing hymn, “Halle, Halle, Hallelujah”, and then
  • Pat will lead us in the Charge and Ben will offer a benediction.
  • Kim will provide a postlude.

The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
