In Celebration this week:
- Kim will provide a prelude,
- Rev. Ben will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Bonnie Hamlin will lead us in a Call to Celebration, adapted from an Iona liturgy,
- The opening hymn is, “Praise Ye The Lord, The Almighty”,
- Clementina will lead us in a prayer for peace, an adaptation of a liturgy from Iona, which itself is an adaptation of an adaptation of a prayer from the Upanishads
- then Bonnie will read Ephesians 4:25-5:2.
- Rev Ben will preach a sermon, “An Honest Assessment”,
- The hymn of response is, “Just a Closer Walk With Thee”,
- Jim Allardice will lead us in prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is “There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy”, and
- Bonnie will lead us in the Charge and I will offer a benediction.
- Marcia will provide a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
