In Celebration this week:
- Kim will provide a prelude,
- I will welcome folks to Celebration and
- Clementina will lead us in a Call to Worship (from Iona),
- The opening hymn is “Looking for Light, We Wait in Darkness”,
- I will lead us in a prayer for peace adapted from a prayer of the World Council of Churches
- I will read Mark 6:14-29,
- I will preach a sermon,
- The hymn of response is, “We Are One in the Spirit”,
- Clementina will lead us in a pastoral prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is “Canto de Esperanza”, and
- I will lead us in the Charge and offer a benediction.
- Marcia will provide a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
