Sermons (Page 45)

A Higher Calling

Rev Beth discusses some of the more difficult sections of the Sermon on the Mount and how Jesus’ words call us to a higher understanding of relationships.

Coming Out and Burning Brightly

Rev. Buckingham-Brown discusses the need for progressive Christians to ‘stand up and be counted’, instead of letting others define the image and message of Jesus to the world.

God did so totally not just say that

Talitha G Phillips (Coordinator for Children and Youth) imagines that the prophet Isaiah might have had an attitude… when God introduced a scandalous new idea that God cared for all the nations of the earth. We always draw boundaries around ourselves, our loved ones, our neighbors, our nation — but God pushes us to expand them.

Magnificat

For their Winter Major Work for 2010, the MPC Choir performed several settings of the Magnificat by English Renaissance composers, accompanied by a viol consort. This recording includes the first two works presented during celebration that day.
