Celebration Worship Service, June 7th, 2026

PLEASE NOTE: You may join us in person in the sanctuary, or on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • Marcus Schneider will play a prelude, “Make You Feel My Love”, by Bob Dylan
  • Katie will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Next, Helen Hutchison will lead us in the Call to Celebration (using “Three Things to Remember” by Mary Oliver)
  • the opening hymn will be “God Is Here Today”,
  • next Helen will lead the Prayer for Peace (World Council of Churches)
  • Time with Children is next
  • Invitations will be presented
  • The MPC Choir will sign “We Shall Not Be Moved”, traditional spiritual, arr. Adam and Matt Podd; Kim Rankin directing
  • Helen will read from scripture: Matthew 9:9-26
  • Ben will deliver a sermon
  • the Hymn of Response will be “Be Still and Know That I Am God”
  • followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be: “Draw the Circle Wide” text by Gordon Light; music by Mark Miller
  • we will celebrate communion together
  • the closing hymn will be “Fill My Cup, Let i Overflow”,
  • we will recite the Charge together
  • a benediction will be offered
  • followed by a postlude “We Shall Not Be Moved”


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
