- There will be a prelude from the MPC Choir, “Now I Walk in Beauty”, a traditional Navajo (Dine) prayer; music by Gregg Smith; Kim Rankin directing
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Shelley Kelly will lead the Call to Celebration, (Call to Worship Journal, PCUSA)
- the opening hymn will be “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”,
- next Shelley will lead us in the Prayer of Confession (Call to Worship Journal, PCUSA)
- Time with Children follows,
- Invitations are next
- the MPC Choir will perform “O, the Winter Soon Be Over”, Bahamian spiritual, arr. Peter Amidon, Kim Rankin directing
- next Shelley will read from John 9: 1-41
- then Katie will offer a sermon,
- the Hymn of Response will be “Come To Me, O Weary Traveler”,
- Prayers of the People are next
- followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be “What Wonderous Love is This”, a traditional shape-note hymn, arr. Heather Sorenson
- the closing hymn will be “The Glory of These Forty Days”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- there will be a benediction
- followed by Postlude on “The Glory of these Forty Days” by Matthew McConnell; Kim Rankin on organ
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
