In celebration this week:
- Kim Rankin will play a prelude, “I Want Jesus to Walk With Me”, traditional, arr. Raluca Bojor
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Steven Warren will lead the Call to Celebration, (PCUSA resources for Mr. Rogers Sunday
- the opening hymn will be “There is a Balm in Gilead”,
- next Steven will lead us in the Prayer of Confession (PCUSA resources for Mr. Rogers Sunday)
- Invitations are next
- Time with Children follows,
- next Steven will read from John 11: 14
- then Rev. Ben Daniel will offer a sermon,
- the Hymn of Response will be “I Want Jesus to Walk With Me”,
- Prayers of the People are next
- then we will ordain and install the Session Class of 2026
- followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be “There is a Balm in Gilead”, African-American spiritual, arr. Deanna Witkowski
- the closing hymn will be “When Jesus Wept”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude, “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” by Lowell Mason, arr. Martha Lynn Thompson
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
