In Celebration this week:
- Marcia will provide a chimes and members of the MPC Choir will provide a prelude, “Come, O Holy Spirit, Come”,
- Rev. Talitha will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Tara Flanagan will lead us in a Call to Celebration, (from Ezekiel 37:14).
- The opening hymn is, “Come, Thou Almighty King”,
- Tara will lead us in a prayer for peace, (From Iona, a prayer by David Osborne) ;
- then Tara will read James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a.
- Clementina will preach a sermon, “Drawing Near”,
- The hymn of response is, “Be Thou My Vision”,
- Rev. Talitha will lead us in prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is “Come Down, O Love Divine”, and then
- Tara will lead us in the Charge and Rev. Talitha will offer a benediction.
- Marcia will provide a postlude, “Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun” by Wilbur Held.
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
