In Celebration this week:
- Marcia will provide a chimes and a prelude, “God, who Stretched the Spangled Heavens”, arr. Wilbur Held
- Rev Ben will welcome folks to Celebration, and
- Cindy Gullikson will lead us in a Call to Celebration, from Iona, a prayer by Kathy Galloway
- The opening hymn is, “O Day of Rest and Gladness”,
- Cindy will lead us in a prayer for peace, from Iona;
- then Cindy will read James 3:1-12.
- Rev Ben will preach a sermon, “Hey! Watch Your Mouth!”,
- The hymn of response is, “O Lord, May All We Say and Do”,
- Talitha will lead in prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing hymn is “May God Support You All Your Days”, and then
- Cindy will lead us in the Charge and I will offer a benediction.
- Kim will provide a postlude, “Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!” arranged by Bradley Sowash.
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
