In celebration this week:

  • Marcus Schneider will play a prelude, Main theme from “The Alcotts” (Piano Sonata No.2, 2nd movement) by Charles Ives
  • Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Next, Claire Kelly will lead us in the Call to Celebration (from Iona)
  • the opening hymn will be “Lift Every Voice and Sing”,
  • next Claire will lead the Prayer of Reconciliation (World Council of Churches)
  • then Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a celebration of July birthdays
  • Time with Children is next
  • Invitations will be presented
  • The MPC Choir will perform “Beloved, Let Us Love One Another”, by Pepper Choplin
  • Claire will read from scripture: Jeremiah 29:1-7
  • Ben will deliver a sermon,
  • next we will sing the Hymn of Response, “For the Healing of the Nations”
  • followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be: “The Alcotts”, Second Theme by Charles Ives
  • we will next celebrate communion together, while Marcus plays “Adoration” by Florence Price
  • the closing hymn will be “This Is My Song”,
  • we will recite the Charge together
  • a benediction will be offered
  • followed by a postlude “The Alcotts”, Conclusion by Charles Ives


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
