Celebration Worship Service, November 19th

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • The prelude will be “Now Thank We All Our God”, J. S. Bach, arr. Claude Means
  • Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration,
  • Susanne Lea will lead us in the Call to Celebration, (by David Adam, adapted).
  • The opening hymn will be “We Gather Together”.
  • Next, Susanne will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (Church of Scotland, adapted),
  • Followed by a Time with Children.
  • Invitations are next,
  • Followed by a special music presentation: ““Let’s Imitate Her Notes Above”, G. F. Handel, a duet by Debra Stastny and Brenda Vallenas
  • Then Susanne will read aloud the scripture reading from Ephesians 5:15-20
  • Next, Ben will share a sermon, “On Gratitude”,.
  • The hymn of response will be “For the Fruit of All Creation”,
  • The offering plates will be passed while Marcia plays an offertory, “We Gather Together”, arr. B. H. Fisk
  • The closing hymn will be “Let All Things Now Living”.
  • We will recite the Charge together,
  • There will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
