In celebration this week:
- The prelude will be “Now Thank We All Our God”, J. S. Bach, arr. Claude Means
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration,
- Susanne Lea will lead us in the Call to Celebration, (by David Adam, adapted).
- The opening hymn will be “We Gather Together”.
- Next, Susanne will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (Church of Scotland, adapted),
- Followed by a Time with Children.
- Invitations are next,
- Followed by a special music presentation: ““Let’s Imitate Her Notes Above”, G. F. Handel, a duet by Debra Stastny and Brenda Vallenas
- Then Susanne will read aloud the scripture reading from Ephesians 5:15-20
- Next, Ben will share a sermon, “On Gratitude”,.
- The hymn of response will be “For the Fruit of All Creation”,
- The offering plates will be passed while Marcia plays an offertory, “We Gather Together”, arr. B. H. Fisk
- The closing hymn will be “Let All Things Now Living”.
- We will recite the Charge together,
- There will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
