In celebration this week:
- Marcia will play a prelude, “Praise the Lord, Rise Up Rejoicing”, arr. Dale Wood
- Katie will welcome everyone to Celebration.
- Claire Kelly will lead us in the Call to Celebration, (from Ghana, adapted)
- The opening hymn will be “Arise, Your Light Has Come!”.
- Next, Claire will lead us in a Litany of Rejoicing (from South Africa)
- then we will have a Time With Children.
- Invitations are next.
- Special music will be “”Laudamus Te” from the Vivaldi “Gloria”
- Claire will read aloud the scripture reading from Romans 12:1-8
- Ben’s sermon is titled, “What is Your Part to Play?”,
- The Hymn of Response is “Take My Life”,
- followed by a pastoral prayer.
- The offering plates will be passed next, while Marcia plays an offertory.
- The closing hymn will be “Go to the World!”.
- We will recite the Charge,
- Ben will offer a benediction
- followed by a postlude from Marcia
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
