PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Everyone will need to wear masks and provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test within 3 days of each Sunday. You also may watch the service on a live stream in the courtyard or at home. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:
- require mask-wearing when indoors
- require either proof of Covid vaccination OR a negative Covid test from within the last three days. Please see the ushers for details
- run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:
- The prelude, “Canzon II per sonar” by Salomone Rossi (1570-1630), will be provided by our guest musicians, Mane Musica, an early music brass quartet;
- Ben will welcome us to Celebration.
- Jean Gregory will lead us in the Call to Celebration (Orthodox)
- The opening song is, “Come Down, O Love Divine”.
- Next, Jean will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (Church of Scotland),
- then Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a celebration of June birthdays,
- followed by Time with Children when we will recognize our graduates.
- Next, there will be time for Invitations, then
- Mane Musica will present “Hodie Comopleti Sunt”, by Lucca Marenzio (1553-1599)
- Jean will lead us in a scripture lesson from Acts 2:1-21.
- Ben will preach a sermon, “This is something Special”.
- Next is the hymn of response, “On Pentecost They Gathered“, next
- Offering plates will be passed,
- Ben will lead us in the sacrament of communion followed by the Lord’s Prayer.
- The closing hymn will be, “Go to the World”, then
- Jean will lead us in the Charge,
- We will receive the benediction,
- and finally, we will enjoy a postlude from Mane Musica, “Ricercar del duodecimo tuono”, by Andrea Gabrielli (1533 – 1585)
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
