PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Everyone will need to wear masks and provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test within 3 days of each Sunday. You also may watch the service on a live stream in the courtyard or at home. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:
- have socially-distanced seating “pods” set up in the sanctuary on one side, open seating on the other
- require mask-wearing when indoors
- require either proof of Covid vaccination OR a negative Covid test from within the last three days. Please see the ushers (they’re wearing leis!) for details
- run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary
- if you can get tested using an at-home test or a clinical test before coming to Church, that is one way you can help keep the congregation safe

- First, Kim and Rich Larsen will offer a prelude, “Romance”, by Dmitri Shostakovich, then
- Ben will welcome us to Celebration.
- Susan Spore will lead us in the Call to Celebration written by Heather A. Moody.
- The opening hymn is, “Tu Fidelidad”.
- Next, Susan will lead us in the Prayer of Confession (written by Tom Cheatham), then.
- there will be time for invitations.
- Susan will then lead us in a scripture lesson from1 Kings 19:1-13.
- Talitha will preach a sermon titled, “Bread for the Journey”.
- Kim and Rich will offer a musical response, Theme from “Schindler’s List”, by John Williams
- Next is the song of response, “Give Us Bread for the Journey”, and then
- Talitha will lead us in a pastoral prayer.
- Offering,
- The closing hymn will be, “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”, then
- Susan will lead us in the Charge, and
- Ben will offer a benediction.and then the postlude will be offered.
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
