  • As we prepare to light the Advent Wreath, we will sing the processional song, “While We Are Waiting, Come”.
  • Next is the responsive reading as the advent wreath is lit,
  • The opening hymn is, “My Soul Gives Glory to My God”,
  • Sari Kulberg will lead us in a Prayer for Peace,
  • Talitha will welcome us to Celebration,
  • The children will be dismissed to Godly Play.
  • Sari will lead us in the scripture reading, Luke 1::26-56, then
  • Ben will offer a sermon, “The Affirmations of Mary”,
  • Next, the MPC Choir will present, “Mary, Did You Know?”, by Mark Lawry and Buddy Greene.
  • Offering,
  • Invitations.
  • The closing hymn is “The Angel Gabriel From heaven Came”, and then
  • Sari will lead us in the Charge and Ben will offer a benediction.
  • The MPC Brass Quartet will offer the postlude, after which
  • Ushers will dismiss the congregation row by row.

The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
