The Women’s Retreat this Fall will take place on October 16 on the MPC campus from 8:30 – 4:00pm. All who are 18 or older who identify as female are invited. Register here. Cost: Sliding scale of $40-50. Scholarships are available.
The Women’s Retreat is a chance for us to enjoy one another’s company, strengthen the bonds of our fellowship, make art projects together, and make music together
A note about gender: we sometimes spell it Womxn’s Retreat or Women’s+ Retreat. This is to make clear that we recognize and include everyone who identifies as female, as well as those who do not identify as female OR male, including gender-fluid, agender, gender non-binary and genderqueer people – our friends beyond the binary.
This year’s speaker: Rev. Faye Orton Snyder
Rev. Faye Orton Snyder served the Lafayette Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation for 32 years before retiring in 2009. Her passion is creating sacred circles of deep welcome for all people.
Faye has been prepared and trained by The Center for Courage & Renewal and is currently an active facilitator in the “Courage to Lead” program for spiritual formation and thriving in ministry. The newly formed Bay Area Courage Network supports her small group programs that enable finding one’s deepest integrity in a setting of relational trust.
With her husband, Steve, 7 children and 18 grandchildren they cherish family backyard gatherings, grandchildren sleepovers, pool parties and making waffles by the dozen!

The Colors of Pandemic Life
Pandemic life gave us many opportunities to both survive and savor our experience of adjusted daily living. As we begin to look back on this experience, we have stories to share about what was difficult and “defining” in daily life. We are also beginning to name the “gifts” of pandemic life as well.
