In Celebration this week:

  • Kim will provide a prelude, a Bach medley,
  • I will welcome folks to Celebration, and I will lead us in a call to celebration from the Church of Scotland,
  • The opening hymn is “There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit”,
  • Jim will lead us in a prayer for peace, adapted from “A Litany for Those Not Ready for Healing” by Rev. Dr. Yolanda Pierce,
  • Special music is Veni, Sancte Spiritus”, a Taizé chant played on handchimes by Steve McKiernan, Betsy King, Andrew Newell,
  • I will read Mark 4: 26 – 34,and then I will preach a sermon titled “What Did You Expect?”,
  • Jim will offer a Pastoral Prayer,
  • Offering,
  • The closing Hymn is “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”, and I will lead us in the Charge and offer a benediction. 
  • Kim will provide a prelude, “Christians, We Have Met to Worship”, arr. Mark Hayes

The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
