In Celebration this week:
- Kim will provide a prelude, a Bach medley,
- I will welcome folks to Celebration, and I will lead us in a call to celebration from the Church of Scotland,
- The opening hymn is “There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit”,
- Jim will lead us in a prayer for peace, adapted from “A Litany for Those Not Ready for Healing” by Rev. Dr. Yolanda Pierce,
- Special music is “Veni, Sancte Spiritus”, a Taizé chant played on handchimes by Steve McKiernan, Betsy King, Andrew Newell,
- I will read Mark 4: 26 – 34,and then I will preach a sermon titled “What Did You Expect?”,
- Jim will offer a Pastoral Prayer,
- Offering,
- The closing Hymn is “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”, and I will lead us in the Charge and offer a benediction.
- Kim will provide a prelude, “Christians, We Have Met to Worship”, arr. Mark Hayes
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
