Join us on Saturday, May 17th at 7pm when author Chris Haft — a church member with a long and distinguished career as a sports journalist — presents his biography of Willie McCovey. This is the only biography that McCovey’s family has endorsed, and it’s a “must read” for baseball fans.
Most Oaklanders are (or at least have been) Oakland Athletics fans, but McCovey’s legacy transcends fandom. He will forever be remembered as a Giant, but more than that, he will be remembered as a great baseball player and an even greater man — and Chris’ book will play an important part in
preserving that legacy of greatness.
The talk will take place in the Thornhill Room at the church, and there will be peanuts and crackerjacks (of course!). Hope you can join us.
