It’s been 20 years since the horrific terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 and the October Sunday morning visit to MPC by our Muslim neighbor Mina Moghaddam and her two adult daughters. This sincere and gracious gesture was met with our sincere desire to connect with Muslims and led to a beginning relationship with the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California. Our desire for interfaith relationships brought in Kehilla Community Synagogue, and our three congregations formed the Faith Trio.
Our Faith Trio Committee has continued to meet regularly these past 20 years and planned annual Harvest Dinners and other meaningful events until Covid-19 temporally grounded us in 2020. Not to be deterred, we organized a successful zoom “Harvest Gathering” instead of the in-person Harvest Dinner.
Our 20th Anniversary Celebration
In 2021 we decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our congregations coming together. This Faith Trio 20thAnniversary Celebration over zoom will be on January 29, 2022, at 7:30 PM.
Interested in attending this important & inspiring event? Please contact Betsy King; she can be reached via the MPC’s Realm website or by contacting the MPC main office.
Note: We also are compiling an online Memory Book for everyone to write in and share their memories, stories, insights, or just what it meant to you to participate in our Faith Trio activities. Many have already shared their experiences, and we hope you will too!
