Some highlighted committees and groups:
Committee for Children and Youth
The Committee for Children and Youth supports programs for children from 0-18 and their families. If you are looking for a way to support or work with MPC’s young people, please consider joining the Committee for Children and Youth, volunteering as a storyteller or greeter during Godly Play, or volunteering as a youth advisor for the Youth Group meetings. Please contact committee chair Cindy Gullikson to learn more about supporting our youngest members.
The Food and Shelter Committee
The Food and Shelter Committee works to feed the people of Oakland and support the development of housing for all. During these times, we continue to feed people through our pantry groceries and with hot meals. Contact Deborah Brooks or Debra Stastny to participate.
Buildings and Grounds
Members perform minor repairs to facility, depending on skill set available. Occasional work days are organized for all congregation members to help on special needs. The committee oversees large projects and works with staff to bring in contractors as needed for maintenance and repairs.
Periodic meetings are held to review status of facility maintenance and repair needs and develop plans to address them. To get information about current meetings and/or projects, call or email Allen Todd.
Celebration Committee
We encourage the congregation’s participation in Celebration.

Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee plans and executes one or two fundraising event each year. These have included such fun events as the MPC Auction (both in-person and online), Variety Show, Taco Party, and Jumble Sale. Funds raised support MPC’s operating budget as well as outside non-profit groups working on issues of concern to the MPC Family. Past fundraisers have supported climate change action, homeless youth in Alameda County, Syrian refugees, immigrants’ rights advocacy and environmental justice. We would love to have your help organizing MPC’s fun fundraising events! Please contact Leslie Louie or Suzanne Jones to participate.
