- Anna Capuchino will play a prelude on the cello, “Minuet from Suite in G major, BWV1007” by J. S. Bach
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Next, Doug Brookes will lead us in the Call to Celebration (from Iona, adapted)
- the opening hymn will be “Guide Me, Oh Thou Great Jehovah”,
- next Doug will lead the Prayer of Reconciliation (from Iona, adapted)
- Debbie Fallehy will lead a celebration of August birthdays
- Invitations will be presented
- Time with Children is next
- The Special Music will be “Sonata in C major op. 40, no. 1”, by Jean-Baptiste Breval, performed by Anna Capuchino and Scott Thompson, cello
- Sally will read from scripture: Matthew 14:13-21
- Rev. Ben Daniel will deliver a sermon,
- next we will sing the Hymn of Response, “Loaves Were Broken, Words Were Spoken”
- there will be a moment for MPC Family News
- followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory will be “Andante” by Franz Josef Haydn
- we will celebrate communion together
- the closing hymn will be “Day is Done”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- a benediction will be offered
- followed by a postlude, Toccata on “Cwm Rhondda” by James Biery, performed by Kim Rankin on the organ
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
