Celebration Worship Service, October 26th, 2025

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • We will gather in front of the sanctuary for the Gathering Liturgy by the Creek that will include a reading of The Temescal Creek Myth of Rebirth followed by some symbolic actions
  • We will then process back to the sanctuary where Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Stephen Warren will lead us in a Call to Celebration (World Council of Churches)
  • the opening hymn will be “God of the Sparrow”,
  • next Steve will lead us in the Prayer for Peace (adapted from a World Council of churches liturgy)
  • then it’s Time with Children
  • Invitations are next
  • Special Music will be from Gail Onion on a native flute
  • next Steve will read from Ezekiel 47:1-12,
  • Rev. Jerry Drino will offer a sermon,
  • the hymn of response will be, “Many and Great, O God, Are Thy Works”
  • Ben will lead Prayers of the People next
  • then the offering plates will be passed, and a choir ensemble will sing “Mi Habbe Lu Lu Be Shembel”, a Lenape Chant, directed by Kim Rankin
  • the closing hymn will be “For the Fruit of All Creation”
  • we will recite the Charge
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude from Kim, Postlude on “Ar hyd nos”, by Phil Lehenbauer


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
