Celebration Worship Service, July 6th, 2025

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • The prelude is “Ode to Joy” (Ludwig van Beethoven, arr. Richard Warner), played by Marcia Roy
  • Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Pat Schwinn will lead us in a Call to Celebration
  • the opening hymn will be “God of the Ages, Whose Almighty Hand”,
  • next Pat will lead us in the Prayer for Peace
  • Debbie Fallehy will lead a celebration of July birthdays
  • then it’s Time with Children
  • Invitations are next
  • then Steve McKiernan will sing “American Tune” (words and music by Paul Simon) accompanied by Ben and Marcia
  • followed by Pat reading from the Scriptures, from Galatians 6:1-6
  • Ben’s sermon is next, titled “Sharing the Burden”
  • the hymn of response is “For the Healing of the Nation”
  • then the offering plates will be passed, Steve, Ben and Marcia will perform “Anthem”, (words and music by Leonard Cohen)
  • next we will celebrate communion
  • the closing hymn will be “This Is My Song”
  • we will recite the Charge
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude, “We Are God’s People” (by Johannes Brahms, arr. Richard Warner)


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
