In celebration this week:
- Marcia Roy will provide a prelude
- Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
- then Kit Land will lead us in a Call to Celebration (by Rev. Mindi Welton-Mitchell)
- the opening hymn will be “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”
- next, Kit will lead us in a Prayer for Peace, (by Rev. Thom Shuman, adapted)
- Time with Children is next (children will then be dismissed to Godly Play)
- we will hear invitations after that
- next the MPC Choir will perform an anthem, “One Step God Leads”, directed by Kim Rankin
- then Kit will read Numbers 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-29
- Katie Kilby will offer a sermon
- then we will sing the hymn of response, “As Pants the Deer for Living Streams”
- next will be the Pastoral Prayer
- then Ben will offer a God’s Work in the World to update everyone on the Pastoral Care team’s work
- the offering plates will be passed while Kim plays an offertory
- the closing hymn will be “How Firm a Foundation”
- we will recite the Charge together
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
