  • The opening hymn will be “Gather Us In”
  • Next, Debbie will lead us in a Prayer for Peace, (excerpted from a prayer by Bishop Eugene Robinson)
  • Followed by Time with Children (children will then be dismissed to Godly Play)
  • We will hear invitations after that
  • The MPC Choir will perform an anthem, “Welcome to God’s Love” by Mark Miller
  • Then Debbie will read Ecclesiastes 3:1-5 and James 4:13-15
  • Tara will offer a sermon, “Who’s Really In Charge Here and on Who’s Timeline?”
  • Then we will sing the hymn of response, “Be Still My Soul”
  • Tara will offer a prayer
  • The offering plates will be passed while Kim Rankin plays “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”, tune by John Wyeth, arr. James Koerts

  • We will recite the Charge together
  • Tara will offer a benediction
  • Followed by a postlude

The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
