In celebration this week:
- Katie will welcome everyone to Celebration, following the prelude,
- then Pat Schwinn will lead us in a Call to Celebration (from A New Zealand Prayerbook, adapted)
- The opening hymn will be “What Child is This?”.
- Next, Pat will lead us in a Prayer for Peace
- followed by a Time with Children.
- Pat will read from Isaiah 43:1-2, 18-19
- Lynn Viale will deliver a sermon entitled, “I Am Doing a New Thing”
- Then we will sing the hymn of response, “‘Twas in the Moon of Wintertime”,
- Followed by a pastoral prayer.
- The offering plates will be passed while an offertory is played,
- the closing hymn will be “As With Gladness Men of Old”
- We will recite the Charge together,
- There will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
