In celebration this week:
- There will be a prelude from Kim Rankin,
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Bonnie Hamlin will lead the Call to Celebration, (from Iona, adapted)
- the opening hymn will be “O Lord, How Shall I Meet You?”,
- next Bonnie will lead us in a Prayer of Reconciliation (Church of Scotland, adapted)
- then Debbie Fallehy will lead a celebration of March birthdays
- Time with Children follows,
- Invitations are next
- the MPC Choir will perform “Bread of the World”, by Alan Bullard, Kim Rankin directing
- next Bonnie will read from John 3:1-17
- then Ben will offer a sermon,
- the Hymn of Response will be “In a Deep, Unbounded Darkness”,
- followed by passing the offering plates,
- next we will celebrate communion,
- the communion song is “Give Us Light”
- the closing hymn will be “My Life Flows On”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
- followed by the congregational meeting
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
