In celebration this week:
- There will be an prelude from Sharon Lee Kim, “Nocturne in C Major”, op. 54, no. 4 by E. Grieg
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Doug Brookes will lead the Call to Celebration
- the opening hymn will be “Come, Worship God”,
- next Doug will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (Pope Francis)
- Time with Children follows,
- Invitations are next
- the Ruling Elders will perform “Streets of Minneapolis”, by Bruce Springsteen
- next Doug will read from Matthew 17:1-21
- then Ben will offer a sermon,
- the Hymn of Response will be “Jesus, Take Us to the Mountain”,
- Prayers of the People follows,
- followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory is “Great is thy Faithfulness” by William M. Runyan
- the closing hymn will be “Go, My Children, With My Blessing”,
- we will recite the Charge together
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude, “Träumerei”, by R. Schuman
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
