Celebration Worship Service, February 15th, 2026

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • There will be an prelude from Sharon Lee Kim, “Nocturne in C Major”, op. 54, no. 4 by E. Grieg
  • Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Doug Brookes will lead the Call to Celebration
  • the opening hymn will be “Come, Worship God”,
  • next Doug will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (Pope Francis)
  • Time with Children follows,
  • Invitations are next
  • the Ruling Elders will perform “Streets of Minneapolis”, by Bruce Springsteen
  • next Doug will read from Matthew 17:1-21
  • then Ben will offer a sermon,
  • the Hymn of Response will be “Jesus, Take Us to the Mountain”,
  • Prayers of the People follows,
  • followed by passing the offering plates; the offertory is “Great is thy Faithfulness” by William M. Runyan
  • the closing hymn will be “Go, My Children, With My Blessing”,
  • we will recite the Charge together
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude, “Träumerei”, by R. Schuman


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
