In celebration this week:
- There will be a prelude performed by Kim Rankin
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Debbie Fallehy will lead the Call to Celebration (using the poem “Poem of the One World by Mary Oliver)
- the opening hymn will be “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”,
- next Debbie will lead us in the Prayer for Peace (using a poem by Stephen St. Vincent Benét)
- Time with Children follows,
- Invitations are next
- the MPC Choir will perform “Canticle of Brother Sun”, Kim Rankin directing
- next Debbie will read from Matthew 3:13-17
- then Ben will offer a sermon, “Universal Baptism”,
- the Hymn of Response will be “In Christ There Is No East or West”,
- followed by Prayers of the People
- then the offering plates will be passed, while Kim plays an offertory, “”For the Earth Forever Turning” from Missa Gaia by Jim Scott and Paul Winter
- the closing hymn will be “Take Me To The Water”,
- we will recite the Charge
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
