Celebration Worship Service, October 12th, 2025

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • The prelude will be “Let All things Now Living” arr. Nate Terry, Kim Rankin, piano
  • Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Mike Griffith will lead us in a Call to Celebration (an adaptation of Psalm 150 from Iona)
  • the opening hymn will be “Come All You People”,
  • next Mike will lead us in the Prayer for Transformation and Renewal (from Iona)
  • then it’s Time with Children
  • Invitations are next
  • An ensemble of the MPC Choir will present an anthem, “What Wondrous Love is This” from Walker’s “Southern Harmony” (1835), Kim Rankin directing
  • next Mike will read from scripture, Luke 17:11-19
  • Rev. Ben Daniel will offer a sermon, “On Gratitude”
  • the hymn of response will be, “Give Thanks to God Who Hears Our Cries”
  • Ben will lead Prayers of the People next
  • then the offering plates will be passed,
  • the closing hymn will be “Let All Things Now Living”
  • we will recite the Charge
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
