Celebration Worship Service, July 27th, 2025

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • The Prelude is “All Hail the Power of Jesus Name” (arr. Ed Hogan), Jazz Sax Trio: Linda Spencer, Sally Cole-White, Kim Rankin
  • Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Claire Kelly will lead us in a Call to Celebration (David Beswick, Uniting Church in Australia)
  • the opening hymn will be “How Great Thou Art”,
  • next Claire will lead us in the Prayer for Peace (Jim Wallace, New Zealand Prayer Book)
  • then it’s Time with Children
  • Invitations are next
  • Special Music will be “Praise to the Lord” (arr. Brant Adams), Jazz Sax Trio
  • followed by Claire reading from the Scriptures, from Luke 11:1-13
  • Katie will preach a sermon
  • the Hym of Response is “Our Father, Which Art in Heaven”
  • next, there will be a Pastoral Prayer
  • then the offering plates will be passed, and The Jazz Sax Trio will play “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah” (arr. Deanna Witkowski)
  • the closing hymn will be “Somebody’s Knocking at Your Door”
  • we will recite the Charge
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
