Celebration Worship Service, June 29th, 2025

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • The prelude is “Choral Song” (by Samuel Sebastian Wesley), played by Marcia Roy
  • Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a Call to Celebration (using “Three Things to Remember”, by Mary Oliver)
  • the opening hymn will be “For Everyone Born”,
  • next Debbie will lead us in the Prayer for Peace (excepted from a prayer by Bishop Eugene Robinson)
  • then it’s Time with Children
  • Invitations are next
  • the MPC Choir will sing “Child of God” (by Mark Miller) accompanied and directed by Marcia
  • followed by Debbie reading from the Scriptures, from Luke 9:51-62
  • Ben’s sermon is next, titled “Holy Pride”
  • the hymn of response is “For All the Children”
  • there will be a pastoral prayer
  • God’s Work in the World with LaHkwang and Art Paull is next
  • then the offering plates will be passed
  • the closing hymn will be “God of Grace and God of Glory”
  • we will recite the Charge
  • there will be a benediction
  • followed by a postlude


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
