In celebration this week:
- The prelude is “Come, Christians, Join to Sing”” (arr. Heather Sorenson), played by Kim Rankin
- Rev. Dr. Keith Geckeler will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Janet Mulshine will lead us in a Call to Celebration (based on Psalm 92:1-2, from the Church of Scotland)
- Keith will introduce the opening hymn
- the opening hymn will be “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”,
- next Keith will introduce the hymn of confession/assusrance, “Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness”
- then Keith will introduce the hymn with the good news, “I Was there to Hear Your Borning Cry”
- a pastoral prayer is next
- then the offering plates will be passed, the offertory will be “It Is Well With My Soul” (arr. Howard Helvey)
- Keith will introduce the next hymn
- the Hymn of Response will be “It Is Well With My Soul”
- Keith will introduce the final hymn
- the Closing Hymn will be “Abide With Me”
- we will recite the Charge
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (arr. Yohan Kim)
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
