In celebration this week:
- The prelude is “Come, Risen Lord”, (arr. Dale Wood), played by Marcia Roy on the organ
- Rev. Ben Daniel will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Karen Ray Gibson will lead us in a Call to Celebration (by David Osborne, from Iona, adapted)
- the opening hymn will be “We All Are One In the Mission”,
- next Karen Ray will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (by John McCulloch, from Iona)
- Time With Children will follow
- Invitations are next
- the MPC Choir will perform “Ubuntu” by Mark Hayes, Kim Rankin directing
- Karen Ray will read from the scriptures, Acts 16:9 – 15
- Ben will preach a sermon, “God’s Surprising Call”
- the Hymn of Response will be “For All the Faithful Women”
- there will be a pastoral prayer
- then the offering plates will be passed, the offertory will be “Springdans” (Spring Dance)
- the Closing Hymn will be “We Will Walk With God”
- we will recite the Charge
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
