- Marcia Roy will play a prelude, “The Heavens Declare” (Psalm 19), Benedetto Marcello
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Susanne Lea will lead us in a Call to Celebration (by George Appleton)
- the opening hymn will be “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise”
- next Susanne will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (a prayer delivered by John Paul II while visiting Hiroshima)
- tomorrow we will celebrate March birthdays
- then it’s Time with Children
- Invitations are next
- Brenda Vallenas will sing “In the Morning When I Rise”, arr. Charles Ives
- Susanne will read from the scriptures, Luke 9:28-43
- Rev. Ben will offer a sermon, “Do Something Beautiful”
- the Hymn of Response will be “Where Cross the Crowded Ways of Life”
- then we will receive new member Anne Marie Nilsson and returning members Jan Smith and Anita Garriott
- the offering plates will be passed, while an offertory is played, “There is a Balm in Gilead” arr. Alice Jordan
- next we will celebrate the sacrament of communion together
- the closing hymn will be “When the Morning Stars Together”
- we will recite the Charge
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
