- the opening hymn will be “Come, Worship God”
- next Frank will lead us in a Prayer for Peace and Reconciliation (adapted from a World Council of Churches Prayer)
- then it’s Time with Children
- Invitations are next
- Kim Rankin will lead the MPC Choir in singing “Rise and Shine”, an African American spiritual, arr. Rollo Dilworth
- Frank will read from the scriptures, Luke 6:20-26
- Rev. Ben will offer a sermon, “Count Your Blessings”
- the Hymn of Response will be “Heaven Shall Not Wait”
- then the offering plates will be passed, while an offertory is played
- the closing hymn will be “Blest Are They”
- we will recite the Charge
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
