In celebration this week:
- The prelude, “Heliseb valjadel” by Urmas Sisask, will be sung by the Voci Women’s Ensemble
- Rev. Ben will welcome everyone to Celebration
- then Susanne Lea will lead us in the Call to Worship (by Thom Shuman)
- the opening hymn will be “Praise the Lord! God’s Glories Show””
- next Susanne will lead us in a Litany of Rejoicing (from South Africa, published in “An African Prayer Book” by Desmond Tutu)
- then it’s Time for Children (after which the children will be dismissed to Godly Play)
- we will hear invitations after that
- next Voci sing “One Voice” by the Wailin’ Jennys
- Katie Kilby will offer a sermon,
- then we will sing the hymn of response, “Womb of Life and Source of Being”
- Ben will offer a pastoral prayer
- the offering plates will be passed next,
- the closing hymn will be “For the Fruit of All Creation”
- we will recite the Charge
- there will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
