In celebration this week:
- The Gathering Music will be “Now I Walk in Beauty”
- Rev. Ben will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Gail Onion and Clementina Chacón-Garcia will play a prelude
- Rev. Jerry Drino will acknowledge the 4 directions
- Then Lin Gentry will lead us in the Opening Response and Prayer (adapted from a liturgy of the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona’s Council for Native American Ministry)
- The opening hymn will be “Morning Has Broken”
- Next Lin will lead us in a Prayer for Reconciliation and Peace (adapted from a liturgy of the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona’s Council for Native American Ministry)
- Then it’s Time for Children (after which the children will be dismissed to Godly Play)
- We will hear invitations after that
- Next Clementina and Gail will play a musical offering
- Then Lin will read Matthew 6:25-34
- Rev. Jerry Drino will offer a sermon, “Listening to Creation”
- Then we will sing the hymn of response, “Many and Great, O God, Are Thy Works”
- Katie Kilby will offer a pastoral prayer
- The offering plates will be passed next, and the offertory will be “Mother I Feel You Under My Feet”
- The closing hymn will be “God, Who Stretched the Spangled Heavens”
- We will recite the Charge
- There will be a benediction
- Followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
