In celebration this week:
- Marcia Roy will play the prelude, “Toccata in D minor”, by Johann Jacob Froberger
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- Then Claire Kelly will lead us in a Call to Celebration (Adapted from a prayer by the Caribbean Council of Churches; used here in honor of Puerto Rico)
- The opening hymn will be “For All the Saints”
- Next, Claire will lead us in a Prayer for Peace, (adapted from a prayer by Betty Hernández Carrillo; from Mexico)
- Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a celebration of November birthdays
- Time with Children is next (children will then be dismissed to Godly Play)
- We will hear invitations after that
- Next the MPC Choir will perform an anthem,“Soon and Very Soon”, By Andrae Crouch, arr. Rollo Dilworth
- Then Claire will read Hebrews 11:1–2, 29–12:12
- Rev. Ben Daniel will offer a sermon, “Write Your Chapter”
- Then we will sing the hymn of response, “Lift Every Voice and Sing”
- The offering plates will be passed next
- Then we will celebrate together the sacrament of communion
- The closing hymn will be “Will the Circle be Unbroken”
- We will recite the Charge
- There will be a benediction
- Followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
