Celebration Worship Service, November 3rd, 2024

PLEASE NOTE: Celebration is back in the sanctuary! Masks are optional, but encouraged. You also may watch the service on a live stream at home. Please use this option if you aren’t feeling well. To learn more about these choices, please visit mpcfamily.org/celebrate. In order to keep everyone healthy & safe, we will:

  • encourage masking when indoors
  • run the furnace filtration system for ventilation, doors and windows open only when necessary

In celebration this week:

  • Marcia Roy will play the prelude, “Toccata in D minor”, by Johann Jacob Froberger
  • Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
  • Then Claire Kelly will lead us in a Call to Celebration (Adapted from a prayer by the Caribbean Council of Churches;  used here in honor of Puerto Rico)
  • The opening hymn will be “For All the Saints”     
  • Next, Claire will lead us in a Prayer for Peace, (adapted from a prayer by Betty Hernández Carrillo; from Mexico)
  • Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a celebration of November birthdays
  • Time with Children is next (children will then be dismissed to Godly Play)
  • We will hear invitations after that
  • Next the MPC Choir will perform an anthem,“Soon and Very Soon”, By Andrae Crouch, arr. Rollo Dilworth
  • Then Claire will read Hebrews 11:1–2, 29–12:12
  • Rev. Ben Daniel will offer a sermon, “Write Your Chapter”
  • Then we will sing the hymn of response, “Lift Every Voice and Sing”  
  • The offering plates will be passed next
  • Then we will celebrate together the sacrament of communion
  • The closing hymn will be “Will the Circle be Unbroken”
  • We will recite the Charge
  • There will be a benediction
  • Followed by a postlude


The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
