In celebration this week:
- The gathering music will be “Alleluia” by W.A. Mozart
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration
- then Doug Brookes will lead us in a Call to Celebration
- The opening hymn will be “Now the Green Blade Riseth”
- Next, Doug will lead us in a Prayer for Peace
- Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a celebration of April Birthdays
- next, Time with Children (children will then be dismissed to Godly Play)
- we will hear invitation next
- then the MPC Choir will perform “There is More Love Somewhere”, a traditional spiritual, arranged by Adam and Matt Podd; Kim Rankin directing
- Doug will read from John 20:19-31,
- Katie will deliver a sermon
- Then we will sing the hymn of response, “The Risen Christ”
- The offering plates will be passed while Kim plays “Es ist das Heil uns kommen her (Salvation now has come for all)”
- We will celebrate communion together with Rev. Riana presiding
- The closing hymn will be “Come, You Faithful, Raise the Strain”
- We will recite the Charge together
- There will be a benediction
- followed by a postlude
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
