In celebration this week:
- Marcia Roy will play a prelude: “God of Grace and God of Glory”, arr. Wilbur Held
- Katie Kilby will welcome everyone to Celebration.
- Linnea Gullikson will lead us in the Call to Celebration (by Rev. Mary Nelson Abbott, adapted)
- The opening hymn will be “Let Us Build a House – All Are Welcome”.
- Next, Linnea will lead us in a Prayer for Peace (by May Lou Kownacki, adapted)
- Debbie Fallehy will lead us in a celebration of October birthdays,
- then we will have a Time with Children.
- Invitations are next.
- Andrew Newell will sing “Morning Has Broken”, by Eleanor Farjeon, arr. Cat Stevens
- Then Linnea will read aloud the scripture reading from Philippians 4:1-9
- Next, Katie will share a sermon,
- The hymn of response will be “For All the Faithful Women”
- The offering plates will be passed while Marcia plays an offertory, “Melcombe”, arr. Healey Willan.
- The closing hymn will be “We All Are One in Mission”,
- We will recite the Charge together,
- Katie will offer a benediction
- followed by a postlude from Marcia, “A Charge to Keep I Have”, arr. George Brandon
The Charge (say together) Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the faint-hearted, support the weak, and help the suffering. Honor all people. Care for Creation. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
